This page is getting silly. It's time to either buckle in and start writing consistently here or delete it entirely isn't it? Perhaps that will be a 2018 goal...
THE GARDEN PARTY AND OTHER STORIES - Katherine Mansfield
THE LITTLE BOOK OF HYGGE - Miek Wiking
HENRY IV PART I - Shakespeare
I bowed to the Hygge trend, and it was ok. I do love the focus on community and cozy, and I imagine they would indeed make life happier. I think it's part of a much more interesting conversation on goals though. Do the Danes focus on happiness more or differently than Americans? We talk about the quickly fading American Dream as a goal to be worked for. It's been (at least traditionally) an achievable goal, but a dream which incorporates an amount of effort. I don't think hygge is necessarily looking for an easy comfort, but I do think the American ideal is a bit more of a long game.
